hm, that's interesting to note. I haven't tried with a 3.7 kernel yet.

alas, i do not :( i've only observed it in the flooded-local-link
scenario i described in my earlier post, and it didn't happen to every
maachine running that kernel, just one of them. And of course, this is
not a failure mode i can really afford to deliberately re-introduce into
a production environment either :/

Bug#698780: BUG in nfs_mark_delegation_referenced after network outages

2013-02-27 Thread Rik Theys

Hi,

We seem to be hitting the same bug regarding NFS after a network
interruption.

We have one user here who can frequently trigger this bug by hibernating
his system over lunch. The bug would trigger after resuming (not
immediately, sometimes an hour later).

I've installed the 3.7 kernel from experimental on his system and the
bug was no longer triggered, so it's probably fixed upstream.

Unfortunately the user is not very responsive in helping me track down
which upstream kernel version introduced the fix, and I've been unable
to reproduce the problem myself.

Do you have a way of (reliably) triggering this bug?

Regards,

Rik
