Bug#710402: libgoa-1.0-0: evolution 3.4 crashes with libgoa 3.8

2013-09-09 Thread Christian Holm Christensen
Package: gnome-online-accounts
Version: 3.8.2-1
Followup-For: Bug #710402

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Start evolution with GMail account set up in gnome-online-accounts

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

When GMail account is enabled in gnome-online-accounts, evolution
(3.6.1-1) starts up, but segfaults immidiately after.

Disabling (in gnome-online-accounts) the GMail account allows evolution
to start up normally albeit without connection to GMail account (mail,
calendar, contacts) - which, in my case is a major problem.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

Segfault. Here's a stack-trace without debugging symbols loaded:

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Bug#710402: libgoa-1.0-0: evolution 3.4 crashes with libgoa 3.8

2013-08-06 Thread Pauli
Package: libgoa-1.0-0
Version: 3.8.2-1
Followup-For: Bug #710402

I actually decided to check if it was simple recompilation of evolution.
But no crash still happens when evolution tries to authenticate the
google account. But with recompiled evolution I could pin the bug a bit
more. Evolution makes the follow call in begin of authentication

goa_oauth_based = goa_object_get_oauth_based (goa_object);

That call returns null pointer from goa for some reason. I'm not
familiar with goa nor I have debug symbols or sources for goa to figure
out what goes wrong in that particular call.

goa_object appears to be a valid pointer but no way to check what is
included in the object without debug symbols.

Bug#710402: libgoa-1.0-0: evolution 3.4 crashes with libgoa 3.8

2013-05-30 Thread Sergey Yanovich
Package: libgoa-1.0-0
Version: 3.4.2-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

After upgrading to libgoa version 3.8.2, evolution crashes. Evolution
   is unusable.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?
   * What was the outcome of this action?

Only downgrading back to testing restores lost functionality.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

evolution 3.4 should probably be marked incomatible with 3.8, or
library version of libgoa needs to be bumped to avoid segfaults.
