Bug#710402: libgoa-1.0-0: evolution 3.4 crashes with libgoa 3.8
Package: gnome-online-accounts Version: 3.8.2-1 Followup-For: Bug #710402 Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? Start evolution with GMail account set up in gnome-online-accounts * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? When GMail account is enabled in gnome-online-accounts, evolution (3.6.1-1) starts up, but segfaults immidiately after. Disabling (in gnome-online-accounts) the GMail account allows evolution to start up normally albeit without connection to GMail account (mail, calendar, contacts) - which, in my case is a major problem. * What was the outcome of this action? Segfault. Here's a stack-trace without debugging symbols loaded: Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. Bug#710402: libgoa-1.0-0: evolution 3.4 crashes with libgoa 3.8
Package: libgoa-1.0-0 Version: 3.8.2-1 Followup-For: Bug #710402 I actually decided to check if it was simple recompilation of evolution. But no crash still happens when evolution tries to authenticate the google account. But with recompiled evolution I could pin the bug a bit more. Evolution makes the follow call in begin of authentication goa_oauth_based = goa_object_get_oauth_based (goa_object); That call returns null pointer from goa for some reason. I'm not familiar with goa nor I have debug symbols or sources for goa to figure out what goes wrong in that particular call. goa_object appears to be a valid pointer but no way to check what is included in the object without debug symbols. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libgoa-1.0-0 depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 2.8.0-2 ii libc6 2.17-92 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.12.14-5 ii libcairo2 1.12.14-5 ii libgck-1-0 3.8.2-4 ii libgcr-3-1 3.8.2-4 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.28.2-1 ii libglib2.0-02.36.3-3 ii libgoa-1.0-common 3.8.2-1 ii libgtk-3-0 3.8.2-3 ii libjavascriptcoregtk-3.0-0 1.8.1-4 ii libjson-glib-1.0-0 0.16.0-1 ii libp11-kit0 0.18.5-1 ii libpango-1.0-0 1.32.5-5+b1 ii libpangocairo-1.0-0 1.32.5-5+b1 ii librest-0.7-0 0.7.12-3 ii libsecret-1-0 0.15-2 ii libsoup2.4-12.42.2-6 ii libwebkitgtk-3.0-0 1.8.1-4 ii libxml2 2.9.1+dfsg1-2 ii multiarch-support 2.17-92 libgoa-1.0-0 recommends no packages. libgoa-1.0-0 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#710402: libgoa-1.0-0: evolution 3.4 crashes with libgoa 3.8
Package: libgoa-1.0-0 Version: 3.4.2-2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, * What led up to the situation? After upgrading to libgoa version 3.8.2, evolution crashes. Evolution is unusable. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? * What was the outcome of this action? Only downgrading back to testing restores lost functionality. * What outcome did you expect instead? evolution 3.4 should probably be marked incomatible with 3.8, or library version of libgoa needs to be bumped to avoid segfaults. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (200, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.8-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages libgoa-1.0-0 depends on: ii libatk1.0-0 2.8.0-2 ii libc6 2.17-3 ii libcairo-gobject2 1.12.14-4 ii libcairo2 1.12.14-4 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.28.1-1 ii libglib2.0-02.36.1-2build1 ii libgnome-keyring0 3.4.1-1 ii libgoa-1.0-common 3.4.2-2 ii libgtk-3-0 3.8.2-1 ii libjavascriptcoregtk-3.0-0 1.8.1-3.4 ii libjson-glib-1.0-0 0.14.2-1 ii libpango1.0-0 1.32.5-5 ii librest-0.7-0 0.7.12-3 ii libsoup-gnome2.4-1 2.42.2-4 ii libsoup2.4-12.42.2-4 ii libwebkitgtk-3.0-0 1.8.1-3.4 ii libxml2 2.8.0+dfsg1-7+nmu1 ii multiarch-support 2.17-3 libgoa-1.0-0 recommends no packages. libgoa-1.0-0 suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
