Doomsday version 1.10.4-1, which is currently in Debian unstable and testing, should provide a game selection screen when run without additional arguments. Hi, As the error states, you didn't specify a library to use such as Doom or Heretic. It's a good a idea to refer to the manual page and documentation on the usage.
