Thanks Julien. In that case then SNA didn't live up the expectation it set. s3nt fr0m a $martph0ne, excuse typ0s On Apr 18, 2014 3:05 PM, Julien Cristau jcris...@debian.org wrote: On Wed, Apr 16, 2014 at 13:01:24 +0530, Ritesh Raj Sarraf wrote: While there are other distributions (closest to us is Ubuntu) that have defaulted to SNA, I think the impact is not just of this driver package alone. Bug#724510: xserver-xorg-video-intel: Time to set '--with-default-accel=sna'?
Package: xserver-xorg-video-intel Version: 2:2.21.15-1+b1 Severity: wishlist Hi, I'm testing the SNA acceleration method since ≈ 1 month without any apparent regressions. I think it could be interesting to enable it early in the Jessie development in order to catch regressions on the potentially large range of Intel hardware that Debian users are using. Opinion? UXA has 4 or 5 times less code than SNA. I'm not aware of any compelling reasons to switch. Cheers, Julien signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Ok, makes a lot of sense, I wasn't aware of this previous experience. UXA mostly works. UXA has 4 or 5 times less code than SNA. I'm not aware of any compelling reasons to switch. Upstream has recently switched to SNA (in 2.21.14 I think), so let's wait what positive/negative things does that bring!
