Bug#730602: ssed should be removed
Dear Adrian, first of all, thanks for your bug report. It's true that upstream is not being very active about the ssed development, and maybe all the features of ssed are already incorporated in sed but there are no RC bugs against it and, as you can see in the popcon stats [0], the usage trend of ssed is increasing. We all are free to use it or not, but today this package is a feature, not a bug. I am not aware of any reason why ssed should be used by anyone today, please reassign this bug to ftp.debian.org for requesting the removal of ssed from Debian. According to popcon more people have it installed, but usage is stable at a very low level. We all are free to use it or not, but today this package is a feature, not a bug. I'd claim it is a mistake for anyone to use it, but you are the maintainer and it is therefore your decision. Regards, cu Adrian -- Is there not promise of rain?
