Bug#732676: flashplugin-nonfree: Please leave the nosse2 option
Hello I don't know. But I see in this webpage that the 10.3 version has been actualized in the following dates for all architectures: 6/11/2013 5/14/2013 4/9/2013 3/12/2013 02/26/2013 02/12/2013 02/07/2013 01/08/2013 12/11/2012 11/6/2012 10/8/2012 8/21/2012 6/08/2012 3/28/2012 3/05/2012 2/15/2012 . . . So, for me, there is some support for this version too and I used it :-D. Many thanks. Greetings. Bug#732676: flashplugin-nonfree: Please leave the nosse2 option
Hello again, and excuse for another post ! I find in this blog post from Adobe, that only the 11.2 and newer versions of flash player will be supported :-/ (until february 2017) http://blogs.adobe.com/flashplayer/2012/02/adobe-and-google-partnering-for-flash-player-on-linux.html But you can maintain the 10.3 too and put a warning saying that it hasn't security support !!. Bug#732676: flashplugin-nonfree: Please leave the nosse2 option
Hello I updated my testing box, and now I don't have the flash plugin installed. I'm an happy user of the flashplugin-nonfree package, that have a Pentium III without sse2. I was so happy with the (now gone) --nosse2 option !! My last manual procedure for install the flash plugin that works in this box is: - Go to http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html - Find the newest 10.3 version and download the zip package. - Unzip it and get the XXX_linux.tar.gz package - Install the libflashplayer.so file. Today I make these steps and flash is working now !!. For make a help and solve this bug report, I look into the flashplugin-nonfree 3.3 source code at http://snapshot.debian.org/package/flashplugin-nonfree/1%3A3.3/ I see that the procedure in the file get-upstream-version.pl seems similar to my procedure (I know nothing about perl, but I can see the same url for the download)... Maybe, the confusion in the script is because now there are two versions 10.3 in http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/archived-flash-player-versions.html, the first is Mac only (Released 7/9/2013), and the second is for all architectures (Released 6/11/2013). The last one is the version that works in my system !! :-D I don't know if this explanation is usefull. Many thanks for your hard work. Greetings. Martintxo. tags 732676 moreinfo stop Hi Francesco, Last time I checked the nosse2 option was broken due to changes at Adobe. Have more changes taken place so that the nosse2 option can work again ? Do you know what the nosse2 did and how it worked ? Regards, Bart Martens -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Bug#732676: flashplugin-nonfree: Please leave the nosse2 option
Package: flashplugin-nonfree Version: 1:3.4 Severity: wishlist Tags: upstream Dear Maintainer, After update I noticed flash website weren't working; I tried with: # update-flashplugin-nonfree --install Version 11.2.202.332 needs sse2 and this system doesn't have that. It's ok, but when I give: # update-flashplugin-nonfree --nosse2 --install It complains about option --nosse2 I looked at the changelog and one of the points is: * Removed option nosse2. Please leave this option, if possible, to allow automatically install/update of flash plugin; manual intervention is always possible. Thanks.
