Bug#733747: Please apply patch from https://github.com/the-tcpdump-group/libpcap/commit/1a52c9a05758d162e331dc93d60c51ebeb7b0f55

2013-12-31 Thread Andras Korn
Package: libpcap0.8
Version: 1.5.2-1
Severity: normal
Tags: upstream patch

Hi,

libpcap 1.5 introduced a regression that causes 100% cpu usage in arpwatch;
see https://github.com/the-tcpdump-group/libpcap/issues/333.

There is a trivial fix:
https://github.com/the-tcpdump-group/libpcap/commit/1a52c9a05758d162e331dc93d60c51ebeb7b0f55

Please package a patched version.

Thanks (and a happy new year!)

Andras

Hi,

Yes, libpcap 1.5.3 was supposed to come out two weeks ago with this
change and other urgent fixes, but it hasn't happened. Stay tuned.

Thanks,
