Let’s also set the corresponding meta data field `forwarded` to this
URL, so it is automatically tracked when upstream closes this bug.

Unfortunately it looks like nobody is going to look into this as GNOME
does not use that applet anymore as the functionality was integrated
into the GNOME Shell. Let’s see if some knowledgeable person is going to
look into this and provide a fix, but as it does not cause any
noticeable problems I think the chances are very low.
