I don't believe so. 4.2.4-3 to 4.2.3-4 didn't change LO code.

What was your upgrade?
From what to what?

From http://packages.qa.debian.org/libr/libreoffice.html testing migrations
happened as follows:

[2014-06-04] libreoffice 1:4.2.4-4 MIGRATED to testing (Britney)
[2014-05-27] libreoffice 1:4.2.4-3 MIGRATED to testing (Britney)
[2014-05-06] libreoffice 1:4.1.6~rc2-1 MIGRATED to testing (Britney)

so I'd believe it was 4.1.6-4.2.4?

If it really was that update, it must be in some external lib or
system thingy...

Regards,

Rene

I wish I knew, it makes it a complete pain to use now when working from

office. It took 24 seconds for the File|Open menu to display

This does not answer the question. That a) only answers the to what b)
was obvious since you report it against.

So it was 4.2.4-3 to 4.2.4-4? Or did you not update in ages and it was
really a 4.1.6-4.2.4?

In the first case it's a non-LO bug as the update didn't have LO code changes
in the second case it might.

Apologies: I update daily

from dpkg.log

2014-06-04 08:12:10 upgrade libreoffice-base:amd64 1:4.2.4-3 1:4.2.4-4

In the first case it's a non-LO bug as the update didn't have LO code changes
in the second case it might.

I would love to know what the bug was as it certainly changed quite a bit:
eg the opening LO splash screen now shows all the files I have recently
opened. Before it did not.

OK.. (You know that -base is NOT base components of LibreOffice, though?
-core makes more sense here.

In the first case it's a non-LO bug as the update didn't have LO code

That sounds like a massive change. Like upgrading 4.1.6-4.2.4,
which does that change (btw, I don't think you mean the splash screen
but the start center...).

Did you upgrade while LO was running (e.g. in the background, e.g.
the quickstarter).
Which will open the already running LO,not a new one.. That explains your
drastic change,
(And it would actually make this a 4.1.6-4.2.4 upgrade after all.)

Otherwise, no idea.

Rene

I run aptitude update / upgrade from cron-apt command. From the time I
doubt I would have LO running had but I don't know

From the sound of it, I will purge libreoffice and reinstall. See if that
fixes it

Bug#751211: libreoffice: Excessive time to open files over a network

2014-06-10 Thread Henry Bremridge
Package: libreoffice
Version: 1:4.2.4-4
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

What led to the situation

After the latest update, when opening|saving a file from a remote
server, it takes
ages for the dialogues to refresh. It looks like it is updating all my
file
links. Even when I do not need them refreshed.

What do I do.

I try to open files on the command line rather than using the dialogues
and
I umount the server as soon as possible

What outcome would I like

I would like to refresh only the directory concerned
