I guess the next step is to copy the patches to build Lua from 5.2, using libtool. I'd also like to try out symbol versioning this time to make the release team happy. Have ld name symbols like lua_newstate (that exists in other Lua versions) something like lua_newstate@lua5.3 so that if one loads by mistake lua5.2 and lua5.3 in the same address space nothing wrong happens.
