Hi,

and thanks for this other installation report.

 Package: installation-reports
 Severity: normal

 Dear Maintainer,

I successfully installed Debian Jessie Beta 2 on this computer, but I had to
struggle to be able to use the installed system with the NVIDIA graphics card.

 Comments/Problems:

I did a Graphical install and selected GNOME as the Desktop Environment. There
were no problems during installation. However, After restarting the computer
 to
use the installed system, the GNOME login screen displayed blinking artifacts
and froze after I entered the password for a user. I restarted the system
several times with similar results. Sometimes I couldn't even select the user
or enter any password. I tried to change to a text shell to try to do
something from the command line, but all I got was a black screen with a
frozen white cursor on the upper-left corner.

I decided to reinstall the system and selected Mate desktop environment
instead of GNOME. After installation there were blinking artifacts on the
screen as well, but I was able to login in the graphical shell.

To solve the graphics problem of blinking artifacts I had to install NVIDIA
304 legacy drivers as suggested by nvidia-detect utility:

 https://wiki.debian.org/NvidiaGraphicsDrivers

It's a shame that this machine cannot work without non-free drivers, but now
 the system is usable.

I've added the Gnome list in Cc, maybe they can help you figure out what
needs to be done to diagnose and possibly solve the issue you're having
without the NVIDIA drivers.

Mraw,
KiBi.
