Bug#777916: Fix for ioapps gcc5 build failures
* Ritesh Raj Sarraf r...@debian.org [2015-08-04 17:32]: Anything new? GCC 5 is in unstable, so this is somewhat urgent. I'll look into it soon, hopefully this weekend. Any update? If not, it might be best to apply Tim's patch for now. -- Martin Michlmayr Linux for HP Helion, Hewlett-Packard

DebConf15 has been awesome and taking most of the time. :-) I did apply the patch and run some quick tests. While it does fix the build, but at runtime, it runs to some undefined symbols error. Will see later, hopefully the day after. If you have a patch, please do add it to the bug report. rrs@learner:/var/tmp/Debian-Build/Result$ ioprofiler Traceback (most recent call last): File /usr/bin/ioprofiler, line 34, in module import ioapps ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/ioapps.x86_64-linux -gnu.so: undefined symbol: ht_remove_callback_fditem 2015-08-18 / 23:25:00 ♒♒♒☹ = 1 PS: You may want to test your patch against the git repo. Because there's a new (build fix only) release 1.4r3, which fixes 2 older bugs. -- Ritesh Raj Sarraf | http://people.debian.org/~rrs Debian - The Universal Operating System signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part

tags 777916 + patch thanks Hi there. Here’s a quick patch to fix the gcc5 build failures for the ioapps package. Since upstream appears to be unmaintained and doesn’t use autoconf I’m proposing a patch to modify the Makefile directly. Patch is attached which appends “-std=gnu89” flag to the CFLAGS to address the semantic change in the definition of inline functions in C11.
