Package: openshot Version: 1.4.3-1.1 Severity: normal While I had openshot open, not necessarily rendering or with a project open, I wasn't able to shut off my screen and keep it shut off for more than a few seconds with normal DPMS commands (eg, 'xset dpms force off'). Once I closed openshot, my screensaver functioned normally.
I couldn't find anything obvious in the source (eg via references to xdg-screensaver, xset, *screensaver etc), so it's probably buried deep in a library somewhere, but a userspace program has no business deciding such policy. Especially just a video renderer, not a video player. See also an old bug #374644 for xine where they had similar craziness with screensavers. I really hope openshot isn't faking a keystroke! -- System Information: Debian Release: 7.8 APT prefers stable APT policy: (990, 'stable'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (5, 'testing'), (2, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.17.0-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages openshot depends on: ii fontconfig 2.9.0-7.1 ii gtk2-engines-pixbuf 2.24.25-1 ii librsvg2-common 2.36.1-2 ii melt 0.8.0-4 ii python 2.7.6-2 ii python-gtk2 2.24.0-3+b1 ii python-httplib2 0.7.4-2+deb7u1 ii python-imaging 1.1.7-4+deb7u1 ii python-mlt5 0.8.0-4 ii python-pygoocanvas 0.14.1-1+b3 ii python-support 1.0.15 ii python-xdg 0.19-5 Versions of packages openshot recommends: ii frei0r-plugins 1.1.22git20091109-1.2 pn openshot-doc <none> Versions of packages openshot suggests: pn blender <none> pn inkscape <none> -- no debconf information -- debsums errors found: sh: 1: /usr/sbin/dpkg-divert: not found -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
