Bug#785181: shellinabox: prepare 2.15 release

2015-06-09 Thread Alexandre Detiste
Hi Marc,

There has now been a RC for some time on GitHub,
without any regression found.

I'm happy to push it into the repo.

That would be great !

Bug#785181: shellinabox: prepare 2.15 release

2015-05-14 Thread Alexandre Detiste

 Greetings,

I've spoken with Luka Kraigor about bringing the package up to date.
I'm happy to push it into the repo. Is there a release candidate?

 Cheers

I thought he was first waiting on some feedback from original author,
he could also wait till GoogleCode pulls the plug on 2016/1/26 ;-)

I guess every commit tries to make it a bit better,
so every revision could be considered a RC.

Every single commit/pull request got rebuilt through this drone.io facility:
(this is not a full test as it doesn't use debuild or git-buildpackage)

https://drone.io/github.com/shellinabox/shellinabox
https://drone.io/github.com/shellinabox/shellinabox/admin

| i=$(dpkg-checkbuilddeps 21 | sed -e 's/.*dependencies: //;t;d')
| [ -n $i ] sudo DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get install -y $i
| autoreconf -i
| dpkg-buildpackage -b

I myself tested it with cowbuilder.

For the real 2.15 release, I have no crystall ball and can't read Luka's
mind either.

My Debian TODO's:
- review INSTALL.Debian that moslty duplicate README.md
- review sed magic in debian init script
- review debian/rules again
- write a simple systemd service that will shared by all distros
(there are already shellinabox.service files floating around)
- add a rule for dh_systemd in debian/rules

Greetings,

Alexandre

Dear Maintainer,

ShellInABox development had stalled since 2012:
https://code.google.com/p/shellinabox/source/list

Since then there were a lot of various forks/patches
floating around.

The foreseen shutdown of GoogleCode have waken people up;
and there is now an active project at
https://github.com/shellinabox/shellinabox.

All the old bug tracker / wiki has been imported there too.

The .deb is also automatically rebuilt at every commit:
https://drone.io/github.com/shellinabox/shellinabox

I've myself refresh the debian packaging.
https://github.com/shellinabox/shellinabox/commits/master/debian/rules

As I understand every one in the team is using Debian,
it might be better to turn the package in a native one.

Doing tar czvf ../shellinabox_2.15.orig.tar.gz . --exclude .git
before building the package is not hard science either.

Would you be interrested to package upcoming 2.15 ?
On onather hand, if you don't have any interrest in this package
or Debian; please orphan it and I'll take care of it.

Cheers,

Alexandre Detiste
