Just tell us whether you volunteer to do this or if you want somebody else (=me) caring for it. Hi Andreas, I will do it if there are no further objections. Bug#786473: r-cran-rcurl: Linking to the NSS library causes failures.
Package: r-cran-rcurl Version: 1.95-4.3-1 Severity: important Hi all, we distribure RCurl linked to libcurl3-nss, but this causes failures with the 'devtools' R package: - https://github.com/hadley/devtools/issues/650 - https://github.com/hadley/devtools/issues/467 - http://stackoverflow.com/questions/23287685/devtoolsinstall-github-error-in-function-type-msg-aserror-true-not-se The solution to these failures is to link to libcurl3 instead (by build-depending on libcurl4-openssl-dev). Would that cause forseable problems ? If not, I would be tempted to call the bug serious and ask for a stable update. What would you think about this ?
