Bug#799546: digikam: Digikam not installable
Dear maintainers, I can confirm this on my systems, too. IMHO, as digikam is not usable at the moment for ALL debian/testing users, I suggest, to set the status to "grave". The problem with the dependencies is a really bad situation. Hope it will be fixed soon, as digikam is a really fine application. Thanks for all your efforts! Best Hans

It seems that they want to move on and don't rely too much on KDE dependencies, see https://www.digikam.org/node/749 for more information. They choose to move this way for os portability reasons. Bug#799546: digikam: Digikam not installable
Package: digikam Version: 4:4.4.0-1.1+b2 Severity: important Dear Maintainer, When I try to install digikam I obtain : # LANG="C" apt-get install digikam Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: digikam : Depends: digikam-private-libs (= 4:4.4.0-1.1+b2) but it is not going to be installed Recommends: kipi-plugins but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages. It seems to be a dependency conflict between digikam-private-libs and libstdc++6 With my best regards François -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (900, 'unstable'), (400, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 4.1.0-2-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.utf8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages digikam depends on: pn digikam-data pn digikam-private-libs ii kde-runtime 4:15.08.0-2 ii libc6 2.19-20 ii libgcc1 1:5.2.1-17 ii libgphoto2-6 2.5.8-1 pn libgphoto2-port10 pn libkdcraw23 ii libkdecore5 4:4.14.12-1 ii libkdeui5 4:4.14.12-1 pn libkexiv2-11 ii libkhtml5 4:4.14.12-1 ii libkio5 4:4.14.12-1 pn libkipi11 ii libknotifyconfig4 4:4.14.12-1 ii libkparts44:4.14.12-1 pn libnepomukcore4 pn libopencv-core2.4 pn libopencv-imgproc2.4 ii libphonon44:4.8.3-2 ii libqt4-dbus 4:4.8.7+dfsg-3 ii libqt4-sql4:4.8.7+dfsg-3 ii libqt4-sql-sqlite 4:4.8.7+dfsg-3 ii libqt4-xml4:4.8.7+dfsg-3 ii libqtcore44:4.8.7+dfsg-3 ii libqtgui4 4:4.8.7+dfsg-3 ii libsolid4 4:4.14.12-1 ii libsoprano4 2.9.4+dfsg-3+b1 ii libstdc++65.2.1-17 ii libthreadweaver4 4:4.14.12-1 ii perl 5.20.2-6 ii phonon4:4.8.3-2 Versions of packages digikam recommends: ii chromium [www-browser]45.0.2454.85-1 pn ffmpegthumbs | mplayerthumbs ii google-chrome-beta [www-browser] 46.0.2490.33-1 ii iceweasel [www-browser] 38.2.1esr-1 pn kipi-plugins ii w3m [www-browser] 0.5.3-24 Versions of packages digikam suggests: pn digikam-doc pn systemsettings
