Could you please try again with the last version of the gdm3 package?

I think this might actually be fixed.

You are right this bug is fixed.

Bug#802335: gdm3: gdm 3.18 does not switch to the right tty with a multi seat setup

2015-11-24 Thread Manuel Bilderbeek
Package: gdm3
Version: 3.18.0-2
Followup-For: Bug #802335

Dear Maintainer,

Looks like I'm also hit with this bug... but I have no idea what a 'seat' is or
what 'multiseat' is. I didn't do anything to set that up, I only upgraded some
packages and suddenly I get this issue.

I described it in bug #803779.

It's quite annoying... I even had an extra Xorg and gnome-shell running with
the user "Debian-gdm", which took 20% CPU time...

Quite annoying!

Is there any workaround for this? Why did it hit me and not many other people?
Is it related to nVidia driver?

Bug#802335: gdm3: gdm 3.18 does not switch to the right tty with a multi seat setup

2015-10-19 Thread floris
Package: gdm3
Version: 3.18.0-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Updating to gdm 3.18 with apt-get dselect-upgrade

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

Purged all nvidia packages. Removed all 72-* files in /etc/udev/rules.d
Boot with only the nouveau modules.
Installed nvidia-kernel-dkms.
Reboot
Create the multi seat with:
$sudo loginctl attach seat1 /sys/devices/.../drm/card1
$sudo loginctl attach seat1 /sys/devices/.../usb1/1-1/1-1.4/
$sudo loginctl attach seat1 /sys/devices/.../sound/card1/
Reboot

   * What was the outcome of this action?
After logging in with gdm3 the screen remains gray (background of gdm3)

   * What outcome did you expect instead?
Gdm3 redirects me directly to the desktop. Now I have to press Ctrl-Alt-F2 to
get to my desktop.
