Bug#819042: nvidia-graphics-drivers: Package uninstallable using unstable

We will upload each stable release individually, and the first after 352 was 355. Please be patient and stick with testing/unstable for the time being. Experimental can be bumpy at times, and now is one of those times. 361 series is there and even 364. So please jump straight. And BTW not having selected a very old package from the beginning would have preveneted most of this mess. -- eric

I know, but the problem is elsewhere : even if approved, this package cannot be installed on unstable + experimental because of video ABI dependency first and the fact that this upstream package is really incompatble with current unstable xorg video ABI. I started it manaully with -ignoreABI flags and it just crashed almost immediately so it is not only a matter of rebuilding the debian dependencies Please use the 352 series that's available in unstable - experimental will keep being wild for a while, as there are many new binary packages as a result of upstream changes (libglvnd etc). I do but I cannot test anything newer because of the original choice of selecting an outdated driver version... I think you should first package a version that supports the actual unstable video ABI -- eric

Hi Eric, We have an upload with new binaries stuck in the NEW queue for a month now: https://ftp-master.debian.org/new/nvidia-graphics-drivers_355.11-3.html Until this gets in, we can't move on unfortunately. Please use the 352 series that's available in unstable - experimental will keep being wild for a while, as there are many new binary packages as a result of upstream changes (libglvnd etc). Sorry for the inconvenience. Andreas, is there anything we can do to speed up the approval of 355.11-3 so that it moves on from the NEW queue? Kind regards, Luca Boccassi
