Bug#821237: abduco: should it be removed from Debian?

2016-04-16 Thread Evan Hanson
Hi Mattia,

Thanks for the nudge. When #771102 was raised, I tried to contact
upstream regarding the potential licensing issues but received no
response, and there the bug sat. It's now been quite some time, however,
and I agree something should be done.

I'll make one more attempt to bring the issue to the developer's
attention, but failing a response and positive resolution I agree that
the package should be be removed.

Bug#821237: abduco: should it be removed from Debian?

2016-04-16 Thread Mattia Rizzolo
Source: abduco
Version: 0.1-2
Severity: serious

Dear maintainer,

I find this package to not be maintained at all, with a single upload in
2014 summer, and nothing more after it, even if a release critical bug
has been rised only 4 months later.

In fact, abduco missed the Jessie release.

Furthermore
 * the popcon of the package is quite low (26 while writing this).
 * there are several new upstream releases, but 1/ no visible action of
working on them from the maintainer 2/ nobody opened a bug asking for
   them.

I'm going to ask for removal of this package if nothing happens in the
following two weeks.

RM: abduco -- RoQA; NPOASR; RC buggy; low popcon
