Bug#835103: powerline: shell/default.json do not display the right side
Hi, given that bash doesn't support the right-side of a prompt, there's nothing powerline can do about it, hence I wonder if this bug report shouldn't be closed (or reassigned as an upstream-wishlist bug to bash). somewhat related to that, the switching of the default theme to default_leftonly.json for shell can be covered with #899153. Bug#835103: powerline: shell/default.json do not display the right side
Control: tag -1 + upstream Hi Cedric, On Mon, 22 Aug 2016 15:57:25 +0200 Cedric BRINER wrote: > I'm not able to make work git displaying information when using > shell/default.json. But shell/default_leftonly.json works. This bug appears to affect other users of Powerline as well. An upstream bug report about this exists: https://github.com/powerline/powerline/issues/1657 However that issue's comments point out that bash does not support right-aligned segments, so if you were trying to use that shell segment in bash you may want to try using another shell that supports right-aligned segments. Bug#835103: powerline: shell/default.json do not display the right side
Package: powerline Version: 2.4-1 Severity: normal Tags: lfs Hi, I'm not able to make work git displaying information when using shell/default.json. But shell/default_leftonly.json works. I've tried to added cwd on right for shell/default.json with no success. { "function": "powerline.segments.shell.cwd", "priority": 10 } So it seems more that it is not able to display the right side -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (650, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.6.0-1-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_CH.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_CH.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages powerline depends on: ii libc6 2.23-4 ii python-powerline 2.4-1 pn python:any Versions of packages powerline recommends: ii fonts-powerline 2.4-1 Versions of packages powerline suggests: ii python-powerline-doc 2.4-1 pn vim-addon-manager -- no debconf information
