Bug#844528: systemd is missing the systemd-firstboot binary (and service)
Dear maintainers I'd like to use systemd-firstboot in some custom bootstrapping work. systemd-firstboot shouldn't interfere with anything else. Would it maybe be possible to get it included now that Debian allows for stronger integration with systemd? sincerely, Jörg Behrmann signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

I also ran into this recently; it seems that the Debian packaging explicitly passes --disable-firstboot during configuration due to a preference for debconf. However, it's not at all clear to me that debconf provides a superset of firstboot's functionality. In particular, the hostnamectl man page advises users to use firstboot to set a container's initial hostname, but I can't work out how one would accomplish this with debconf. signature.asc Description: PGP signature
