Sorry, I cannot reproduce this by any means on the Debian Experimental version. 
Tried
Win+Space
Esc
Win+Left
Win+Right

Everything works. Also using Ctrl+Alt instead of Win works. Even with
different focus models, no problem.

Please, also note that if I press Super+Space for run a command but for any 
reason I press Esc
for cancel, Ctrl+Alt+Left/Right for switch between workspaces won't work 
anymore; I also have 
to switch to another workspace using mouse for be able to use 
Ctrl+alt+left/right.
