Thanks for your report. I will update the dependency to kmod. I hadn't realized what you are describing in this report since it's been long time I don't use pure alsa on my laptop. Please drop this dependency: what alsa-base did in the past is now done by kmod itself and hence you don't need to replace it with other dependencies. My goal is to get rid of alsa-base for stretch, so please upload even if the freeze is ongoing, I'll try to get an exception for your change.
