the powerd version in Debian is rather old and doesn't support the ARM based XO models (XO-1.75, XO-4) at all. It would be great to have an up to date version in Debian. Upstream [1] is currently at v110. There have been significant changes upstream (e.g. dbus service, olpc-switchd daemon) so some work on the packaging will be required.
