there is clearly something wrong/corrupted on your machine, please
contact a user support forum such as debian-users mailing list to
understand what your problem is, but the python-numpy package installs
and is usable just fine a clean chroot.

Bug#855535: python-numpy: Crash of gconf2 configuration

2017-02-19 Thread Nicolas Patrois
Package: python-numpy
Version: 1:1.12.0-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

dpkg (via aptitude) refuses to configure gconf2, here is the error output:

Setting up gconf2 (3.2.6-4) ...
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/sbin/gconf-schemas", line 8, in
import sys,os,os.path,shutil,tempfile
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/tempfile.py", line 32, in
import io as _io
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/io.py", line 72, in
import numpy as N
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/numpy/__init__.py", line 142, in

from . import add_newdocs
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/numpy/add_newdocs.py", line 13, in

from numpy.lib import add_newdoc
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/numpy/lib/__init__.py", line 8, in

from .type_check import *
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/numpy/lib/type_check.py", line 11, in

import numpy.core.numeric as _nx
  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/numpy/core/__init__.py", line 24, in

raise ImportError(msg)
ImportError:
Importing the multiarray numpy extension module failed. Most
likely you are trying to import a failed build of numpy.
If you're working with a numpy git repo, try `git clean -xdf` (removes all
files not under version control). Otherwise reinstall numpy.

I tried to reinstall python-numpy but no way.
