Bug#856232: routino-www: Data files in /var/lib/routino/data not created

No, not initially. The documentation is somewhat sparse. The first thing I do whenever I install a package with a less that trivial usage, is to read the README.Debian and README.txt files. This former just says that the data files are created after planetsplitter is run. I surmised that this happened automatically upon installation. But I suppose that leaving it to the user is sensible given that the user has to fetch the *.osm files first. Anyway, I did this and ran planetsplitter and the data files have been created in the right directory, but there is still no map in http://localhost/routino/router.html. I will see if I can get it to work and then sometime I will post a documentation patch to the README.Debian file. I think the documentation needs to be better. Thanks, Morten

You need to run planetsplitter to create these files, have you done that? The planetsplitter --dir option specifies the location where to store the generated data files. > I am not sure if that is the reason that the entire map area in > the routino-www program is empty? Bug#856232: routino-www: Data files in /var/lib/routino/data not created
Package: routino-www Version: 3.1.1-4 Severity: grave Justification: renders package unusable Dear Maintainer, Having installed and reinstalled both of the packages routino and routino-www, I notice that the data files nodes.mem, relations.mem, segments.mem and ways.mem that, according to the README.Debian file in the routino package, are supposed to have been created by the program "planetsplitter", have actually not been created. I am not sure if that is the reason that the entire map area in the routino-www program is empty?
