Package: apt-cacher-ng Version: 0.8.0-3 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
i'm a newbie in bug reporting, encountering issues while trying to enable FreeBSD repo support. Version apt-cacher-ng/stable,now 0.8.0-3 amd64 I did: apt-cacher-ng -p debug=1 | grep filePatt output: VfilePattern = (^|.*/)(Index|Packages [...] PfilePattern = .*(\.d?deb|\.rpm|\.drpm [...] SPfilePattern = (^|.*/).*(\.d?deb|\.rpm [...] WfilePattern = (^|.*/)(Release|InRelease [...] VfilePatternEx = PfilePatternEx = WfilePatternEx = SPfilePattern = end of output. Multible bugs may apply. First, the output doesn't show SPfilePatternEx (or it does show but the label is not correct?). Second, whatever i set any of the *Ex pattern, nothing is accepted. At first i thought i did syntax errors. Later i found that no keyword change is accepted by the -p debug= line but the running apt-cacher-ng does? While doc/README.gz and README.Debian talking about /etc/apt-cacher-ng/ as the "default" configuration directory, it is not default for "apt-cacher-ng -p debug=1". I didn't test which config is shown. The initd script for acng includes the -c /etc/apt-cacher-ng config dir. If i do "apt-cacher-ng -c /etc/apt-cacher-ng -p debug=1" the output reacts to changes of port and bindaddress, but not for "SPfilePatternEx: ForTestingOnly*", output: Warning, unknown configuration directive: SPfilePatternEx Error reading main options, terminating. end of output. To use the -c parameter to get the actual configuration from the default directory did confuse me. It may make sense for the config example becaue it refers to "get a syntax example". If a config was misconfigured with wrong settings it does not make sense to show this wrongs as a reference to a valid syntax. Additional note: I tried testing and unstable acng version 2-1 and 3-1 and noticed that the config is dumped now with acngtool. But the config comments still refer to the -p debug method. I would like to ask kindly for a hint in the config to the new tool.
