Package: waagent
Version: 2.2.0-1~deb8+azure1
Severity: normal

Hi,

The current waagent package (both 2.2.0 and 2.2.12 in unstable) includes the
patch "entry-points.patch," which patches setup.py to remove the waagent2.0
file from the package. The absense of the waagent2.0 file is causing some
popular VM extensions on Azure to fail. Please re-add this file to the package
to make VM extensions work again.

The waagent2.0 file is loaded as a python library by these extensions. Its
purpose is to provide distribution detection logic and some distro-specific
functions. Currently the only workaround is for the VM owner to take manual
action to resolve.
