No objections were raised within a month, so I've now filed a removal bug. Cheers, Moritz

For what it's worth, I've switched to GhostText as a replacement: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ghosttext/ https://github.com/GhostText/GhostText It requires an editor plugin, but any "it's all text" replacement will require some sort of userland support because the way webext works now. I suspect many more xul-ext-* packages are in this situation and might need removal, btw. A. -- What this country needs is more unemployed politicians. - Angela Davis

Package: xul-ext-itsalltext Version: 1.9.2-2 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Once Firefox 57 hits the archive, this extension will completely stop working, as it relies on the older XUL API. It also cannot be ported to the new web-ext API cleanly, as it is a fundamental shift in the way it works: https://github.com/docwhat/itsalltext/issues/94 The most promising alternative seems to be GhostText: https://github.com/GhostText/GhostText ... which should be packaged for Debian. Maybe it could beprovided as a replacement package for this? -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.1 APT prefers stable APT policy: (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental'), (1, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-3-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=fr_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=fr_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages xul-ext-itsalltext depends on: ii firefox-esr 52.4.0esr-1~deb9u1 xul-ext-itsalltext recommends no packages. xul-ext-itsalltext suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
