Hi, As pointed out by Simon Frei this should have been fixed in digikam 5.8 (Tools/Create HTML Gallery). Unless you confirm that problem persists in current versions (4:5.9.0-1 in Debian stable and 4:6.4.0+dfsg-2 in sid) this bug report will be closed. The folder was recreated, with fewer entries > than before, but the HTML option still does not exist. > Wrong lead, sorry: The problem is a case issue in CMakeLists.txt, causing it to incorrectly report tools necessary for the HTML as missing (build log excerpt): -- libxml2 found NO (optional) -- digiKam will be compiled without HTMLGallery support. -- Please install the libxml2 (version >= 2.7.0) development package. -- -- libxslt found NO (optional) -- digiKam will be compiled without HTMLGallery support. -- Please install the libxslt (version >= 1.1.0) development package. This is fixed in the upcoming 5.8.0 release, so I don't believe it is worth patching.

Due to another problem (to be fixed in 5.8.0) updates in the UI do not take effect under certain circumstances. Please try the following and let me know whether it worked: Stop digikam, delete (move) ~/.local/share/kxmlgui5/digikam and restart it.
