Hello, I am another user bitten by this bug. I have a box with basically the same CPU as the bug report submitter (Gianluigi). Are you saying that I should deep six my Geode box or stop upgrading the Debian testing system installed on it? That would be really sad... It seems to me that the upstream bug report has patches ready to be accepted (at least, they look good to H.J. Lu, which I assume to be one of the upstream developers). Can these patches be applied to the Debian package? Moreover, in the past the Linux kernel has had issues with this CPU, but the support has been re-enabled after a while. Hence, I did not get the impression that the days of Debian support for AMD Geode CPUs were already over. Could you please clarify?
