This is an incompatibility between ncurses-base in buster and older
terminal emulators, see #933053 for details.

Bug#905247:

2019-07-26 Thread 王昊然
I think this issue may be in libncurses6 or libtinfo6, because it is
affecting many other programs, not only nload(1).
Please see bug #933053.

Server system is Debian 10, desktop is Debian 9.9, running Xfce4 Terminal
0.4.8 inside a vnc4server session. I don't think any of this is related,
expect maybe the SSH "from Debian 9 to 10" part.

One hunch that I had, is which locale do you use? Mine is:

LANG=C.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=
LC_CTYPE="C.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="C.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="C.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="C.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="C.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="C.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="C.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="C.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="C.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="C.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="C.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="C.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

Both on server and client.

Bug#905247: nload broken when executed via SSH

2019-07-08 Thread Marcio Souza
Hello,

I need the more info. I tried to reproduce the bug, but I don't see
this problem. I run nload over ssh from Debian 10(Gnome desktop) to
other Debian 10 without problem. I've changed severity to important
because this problem does not make the package unusable.[1]

Please give me more information. What's your desktop system, what's
the server system?

Bug#905247: And still not fixed for Buster release

2019-07-08 Thread Roman Mamedov
Severity: grave

Downgrading ncurses back to Debian Stretch versions fixes the issue for me.

Namely, to
libncurses5_6.0+20161126-1+deb9u2_amd64.deb
libtinfo5_6.0+20161126-1+deb9u2_amd64.deb
ncurses-base_6.0+20161126-1+deb9u2_all.deb

Bug#905247: nload broken when executed via SSH

2018-08-01 Thread Christian Schrötter
Package: nload
Version: 0.7.4-2+b1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

nload is unusable in Debian Buster when run over a SSH session!

Just take a look at these screenshots:
http://666kb.com/i/dvq6tp6lztnxmk4xs.gif

Tested from a Xubuntu 16.04 client with xfce4-terminal and yakuake.

I can't reproduce this bug at the local console.
Furthermore it's only visible with network load.

Any hints what's going wrong here? Looks similar to [1].
