Indeed; binNMU'ing ignition-common and sdpb worked. Not sure how I
omitted those but it is fixed now. And the binNMU for kido failed as
you said it would.

Could you please file a FTBFS bug for kido?

Thanks,
~Niels

Hi,

Both ignition-common and sdpb properly pick up the correct dependency
when built with sbuild on my machine, while kido simply FTBFS.

Looking at the timestamps on the build logs, it looks like the binNMUs
didn't happen.

Hi,

It seems that rebuilding ignition-common, kido and sdpb does not make
them pick up the dependency on libtinyxml2-6a (they seem to stay with
the old version).

Could you please investigate and file bugs as necessary (or update
tinyxml2, if the bug is there - e.g. in symbols files or the shlibs file)?

Thanks,
~Niels

Hi,

Thanks for reporting the transition so we can finish it. :)

I have scheduled the binNMUs for "Dependency level 2" in the transition
tracker (see https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-tinyxml2.html)

Please keep an eye on the buildd logs for the relevant packages and file
RC bugs as necessary if builds starts to fail.

Thanks,
~Niels

2018-08-06 Thread Chow Loong Jin
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hi,

There was an ABI break without soname bump in libtinyxml2-6 recently[1],
and I've renamed the package to libtinyxml2-6a as a consequence.

Unfortunately, I neglected to read
https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/ReleaseTeam/Transitions prior to filing
this transition request and have already uploaded libtinyxml2-6a to
unstable. Sorry about that.

The following packages are impacted:
 - libgazebo9
 - basilisk2
 - trigger-rally
 - sdpb
 - rviz
 - librviz2d
 - rospack-tools
 - librospack0d
 - python-rosbag
 - librosbag3d
 - librosbag-storage3d
 - libroslib0d
 - liburdf0d
 - libkdl-parser0d
 - libcollada-urdf0d
 - libcollada-parser0d
 - collada-urdf-tools
 - libresource-retriever0d
 - ros-opencv-apps
 - libopencv-apps0d
 - libnodeletlib0d
 - libnodeletlib-tools
 - polled-camera-tool
 - libpolled-camera0d
 - libimage-transport0d
 - libcamera-info-manager0d
 - image-transport-tools
 - libmediainfo0v5
 - lgogdownloader
 - libkido-utils0.1
 - libignition-common
 - cppcheck
 - gazebo9-plugin-base
 - gazebo9
 - encfs
 - cppcheck-gui

Given that the ABI break is just the addition of a struct member, no
sourceful changes are needed, and binNMUs should be sufficient for the
above packages.
