Great. I like to join the authentication team and help you.
My salsa login is be: fzielcke-guest

I'm just not so familiar with git. Especially because upstream ships a
debian/ directory in their git repos. I have to figure out how to
manage this.

I was more thinking for the other users of Debian :-)
I myself use unstable anyway.

Do I need to file an intent to salvage bug and wait 3 weeks or could I
just go ahead?
I noticed now on github, that the Yubico people gave up maintaining the
official Debian packages and just care now about their Ubuntu PPA:

I'm not using those GUI applications, so I wouldn't be familiar enough with them
to feel comfortable maintaining them myself -- what if the functionality is
broken and I don't notice? -- but I can definitely be your sponsor for
maintaining those (and eventually get you direct upload rights there, since you
are already a DM).

Would you also be interested in co-maintaining yubikey-manager?

Same for yubioath-desktop: it was dropped from testing in 2017, so the soft
freeze would have prevented it from re-entering.

We can make it available in buster-backports though, if that's something you
need; I recently applied for upload access to backports :)

Hi Nicoo,

thanks very much for the upload. In the meanwhile I've used a
selfcompiled version.
Any chance that you could also package yubikey-manager-qt and update
(the much outdated) yubioath-desktop?
I thought about doing it myself, but I'm just a DM. So I would need a
sponsor. And for yubikey-manager-qt it's now too late anyway to get it
into buster.

Regards
Felix

Dear Felix,

Sorry for failing to notice your bug for so long.
I have been struggling with health issues in the last half year, so the
maintainership of my packages suffered. :(

I am uploading version 2.0.0 tonight, so you should enjoy support for your
Yubikey 5 very soon!

There have been three new upstream releases since the last upload of
this package that add support for the newer keys.

I had requested to be added to the auth team so I could help with the
maintenance a little. Barring that and doing a team upload, I'm going to
prepare a NMU for this package.
