Regarding the version 8.14.2-0.1 of the package, there is still a README.Debian saying: "This is a Debianization of Jef Moine's abcm2ps package. It differs from the original in the following respects: acm2ps assumes A4 paper by default" which is no more true since the remove of upstream source discrepancy introduced in very old package and then using '--enable-a4' in build options introduced after, but it was not the case already in 7.8.9-1 (changed in upstream).
