The state on Github is unfortunately incomplete, as I got stuck in the
process of converting to Python 3. The problem is that the XMPP library
I used before hasn't been ported to Python 3 and I would either need to
change to a different XMPP support or to another protocol - considering
MQTT as a lightweight alternative. However, I haven't found time to
actually finish that part, and the current situation isn't helping.
Most of the other code should be Python 3 ready and working right now
(although I haven't tested in depth), but the sync protocol support
isn't there yet. If anybody who is using it has some spare time and want
to create a patch to use another XMPP library, I am ok pulling this in.
If anybody can invest more time to port over to use MQTT instead, that
would be even more welcome :)
