OK, will do.

i think we're ready to drop python-xapian: the only 2 remaining rdeps
are not in testing (because are RC anyway), so please do remove
python-xapian at your earliest convenience (please note we're also
going to proceed with the removal of python-sphinx, since
python-xapian is now the only remaining rdep in testing).

cheers,

I was merely following the instructions you gave:

| If the package has still many users (popcon >= 300), or is needed to
| build another package which cannot be removed, document that by
| adding the "py2keep" user tag

Sure, happy to drop it once nothing's using it.

Cheers,
Olly

I think that's too easy. There is a python3-xapian module which can be used by
the rdeps. The py2keep tag isn't meant for "I don't care to investigate" issues.

$ apt-cache rdepends python-xapian
python-xapian
Reverse Depends:
  python-moinmoin
  python-xappy
  python-translate
  python-carquinyol
  python-jarabe
  python-sphinxcontrib.websupport

These packages exist:

  python3-translate
  python3-sphinxcontrib.websupport

So the preference still would be to get the other packages ported or removed, if
possible.

popcon is 15747.
