Tails Installer will be removed from Debian by the end of the year.
i.e. let's not bother with this for Debian. However, as we will continue
to ship the package in Tails for cloning Tails devices, it might be
relevant there.

Cheers!

Bug#939112: tails-installer: Python2 removal in sid/bullseye -- drop python-distutils-extra build dependency

2019-09-01 Thread Martin Pitt
Package: src:tails-installer
Version: 5.0.14+dfsg-1
Severity: normal
Tags: sid bullseye
User: debian-pyt...@lists.debian.org
Usertags: py2removal

Python2 becomes end-of-live upstream, and Debian aims to remove
Python2 from the distribution, as discussed in
https://lists.debian.org/debian-python/2019/07/msg00080.html

Your package build-depends on python-distutils-extra. Please convert the
package to Python 3, using python3-distutils-extra.

Thanks,

Martin
