Bug#940914: uno-libs3: Segfault on launch in cppu::_copyConstructAnyFromData

2020-12-04 Thread Witold Baryluk
Yes, we can close it.

If I ever find the reason why, or it happens again, I will simply reopen and
post updates.

Thanks for your patience and work on Libreoffice in Debian, Rene.

Regards,
Witold

Interesting.

Can we close this then or do you still want to debug what it was (and whether
there is a chance of coming it back)?

2020-12-03 Thread Witold Baryluk
Hi Rene and others,

Libreoffice started working again for me, no more segfaults or apparmor issues.

I can't reproduce the original issue anymore.

linux-image-5.9.0-3-amd64 5.9.9-1
libreoffice 1:7.0.3-4+b1
apparmor 2.13.5-1+b1

Thanks,
Witold

Ok. Good to know.

I will try to construct more exact instructions with stable reproduction method.

Thanks Rene, for testing.

And mythes-* here of course.

True, after which I said I simply can't reproduce it.

That is demonstratablly completely untrue.

I did reply to the bug, didn't I? And tagged it + unreproducible.

What is needed: Obviously telling circumstances when it happens.

Backtraces are good, but to make upstream debug it one probably needs to
tell them when it might happen, too

(and to check whether it does not happen anymore.)

And that is totally unclear.

Ah, Live?

Does it only happen in Live and not in "real" systems?

Will try

Bug#921178: Re: Bug#940914: uno-libs3: Segfault on launch in cppu::_copyConstructAnyFromData

2020-11-02 Thread Witold Baryluk
I did provide stack traces for example in February 2019.

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=921178
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=940914

There was zero response from the maintainer, i.e. what other
information is required.

I am attaching a new stack trace to this email just in case.

As for reproduction, I believe the easiest is to grab the Debian live
CD image and run it in qemu -kvm, and it will reproduce. It does for
me. If you can't, please let me know.

I appreciate your help Rene.

Witold

Hmm, no, works here. (pure sid chroot + apt install libreoffice + apt

Most people do not have your problem as otherwise there would be far more

Just to see whether it had an affect I upgraded to proposed-updates
included. See [1]. Still works.

If this was true, yes.

Unfortunately
 a) this version is in security since Sep 8, and no report since then.
If this was a general problem this would have been reported FAR
earlier. So I believe it's a local problem.
 b) works here on my debian buster laptop

> Running LibreOffice in an empty home produces the same crash, so it is

I wouldn't be so sure. You could have broken something else (like custom
apparmor profiles compared to the working (well, in non-enforcing mode)
ones. Yes, that happened.)

In any case, unreproducible and needs more info.

Regards,

Rene

P.S:
A report against uno-libs3 - if it's not a bug in said libraries
themselves which is obvious - is not exactly helpful imho, since a crash
in those can also happen if something in LO itself goes wrong, and LO
stuff and dependencies of LO stuff is not reported when doing
reportbug.
