Package: zfs-auto-snapshot
Version: 1.2.1-1+deb9u1
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
Trying to use the package on debian stretch
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
Using commands structured as per "zfs-auto-snapshot --help", unintented
or incorrect results occured.
        see https://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs-auto-snapshot/issues/111 for an
example. The script also generates recursive snapshots of intermediate datasets
(e.g. snapshotting s/s0 will also snapshot s/s0/root and s/s0/pfsense) without
-r specified
   * What was the outcome of this action?
unexpected snapshots on unexpected datasets. Many of these bugs appear
to have been fixed in newer versions of zfs-auto-snapshot
but the stretch version is old
   * What outcome did you expect instead?
the package should have a newer version of the script for stretch, or
be pulled as it currently does not function as intended or as documented
