Dear maintainer,

Thank you for your efforts. I understand that it might be infeasible
to fix this in buster.
I think the cause is likely to be in some other package as the search
functionality is broken in
python-numpy-doc and python-scipy-doc as well. As our primary
workstations are not connected
to the internet, we are dependent on the locally installed documentation.

Could you please suggest any workarounds for buster to re-enable the
search functionality?

Thanks and regards,
Raj Kiran

Bug#952495: python-matplotlib-doc: Local search functionality for the documentation does not work

2020-02-24 Thread Raj Kiran Grandhi
Package: python-matplotlib-doc
Version: 3.0.2-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

After upgrading to buster, the search functionality of the html
documentation is not longer working.

   * What led up to the situation?

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
 ineffective)?

Installed python-matplotlib-doc package, point web-browser at
file:///usr/share/doc/python-matplotlib-doc/html/index.html and typed in
a query in the search box.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

The search page opens but no search results are displayed.

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

The results of the search are displayed normally.

(Please note that this issue is also occuring with python-numpy-doc and
python-scipy-doc)

Thank you,
Raj Kiran
