Bug#953328: sddm: No login prompt on tty1

2021-06-28 Thread Leszek Lesner
I can confirm that.
It is a pretty severe bug for Debian Live as with KDE SDDM does not start and
there is no autologin and you end up on a TTY1 shell only.

Together with Bug #990391 this makes the KDE Live ISO unusable for mortals

Bug#953328: sddm: No login prompt on tty1

2021-03-02 Thread Fab Stz
Hello,

I confirm this is still present in latest bullseye having sddm version
0.19.0-2 (amd64)

Maybe this is somehow linked to https://github.com/systemd/systemd/issues/
12345 ?

Is that actually a sddm or a systemd bug ?

Regards

Bug#953328: sddm: No login prompt on tty1

2021-03-02 Thread Norbert Preining
Hi

> Is that actually a sddm or a systemd bug ?

Well, who knows. I would say a systemd bug because it decides to disable
tty1 - maybe because gdm is doing it like this. But honestly, I don't
want to wade into the systemd/gdm/gnome whatever world, I am not
interested in that, it is purged completely from my computer.

Bug#953328: sddm: No login prompt on tty1

2020-03-07 Thread Andy Wood
Package: sddm
Version: 0.18.1-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Dear Maintainer,

* What led up to the situation?
Installed version 0.18.1-1 as provided in bullseye [reboot]

* What was the outcome of this action?
No login prompt on tty1 [but it is present on other tty's]

* What outcome did you expect instead?
Normal login prompt on tty1

This seems to be caused by entries in /lib/systemd/system/sddm.service

Changing:
   Conflicts=getty@tty1.service getty@tty7.service
   After=getty@tty1.service getty@tty7.service

back to [as per the previous version]:
   Conflicts=getty@tty7.service
   After=getty@tty7.service

fixes the problem.

Andy.
