Thanks for the report!

I've added the exception to the develop branch[1], updated the piuparts.d.o 
runner, and triggered another run of piuparts on dselect/1.2.0, which passed 
successfully.

I'll close this bug when uploading a new version of piuparts (probably at some 
point this weekend).

Hi!

The piuparts run for dselect is failing:

  

because that version started removing a file it owns during package
purge.

The involved file («/var/lib/dpkg/cmethopt») is managed by dselect to
track the current download method, but is also created by debootstrap
while it is doing the apt/dselect setup.

So I guess it would need an exception for this.
