Use http://snapshot.debian.org/package/protobuf/3.11.4-5/ and http://snapshot.debian.org/package/grpc/1.26.0-3/ You need ruby-google-protobuf, ruby-grpc and libgrpc9 and follow https://wiki.debian.org/gitlab#manually_installing_ruby_dependencies

I will fix ruby-gitlab-sidekiq-fetcher. And you will still need to downgrade ruby-google-protobuf and ruby-grpc (use snapshot.debian.org).

Can you try the new gitlab version I just uploaded? I can also reproduce the crash now. Try with older protobuf/grpc as a workaround for now till we fix this properly.

From the previous comment on this bug, it appears to be caused by ruby-google-protobuf and ruby-grpc. Can you try the new gitlab version I just uploaded?
