thanks for your work maintaining the xscreensaver package, it is really appreciated. A recent update of xscreensaver somehow broke the integration with XFCE4 in the sense that the daemon no longer starts on system startup. I can reproduce this every time I boot my laptop and starts the user session in XFCE4. How to reproduce: 1) start the machine (XFCE4, lightdm, xscreensaver) 2) start XFCE4 user session 3) try to lock the screen by launching xscreensaver (CTRL+ALT+DEL) 4) nothing happens 5) open the 'Screensaver' XFCE4 configuration menu 6) it warns that the xscreensaver daemon is not running, offers to start it now, click YES. 7) the xscreensaver daemon is now running, back to 3), it works now!
