As pointed out on d-d today, most renames took place as a result of
two bug reports requesting more consistency. One was about shared
libraries, the other was a request from the Dpkg maintainer, if I
recall correctly.

I know you can commit; no slight intended. Maybe I just notice your
reports because they are so well written and show an overarching

Noticed that and despite I'm bit annoyed of all the renamings, I'm
still happy about the shorter tags, because in the end, shorter tag
names also help to make debian/changelog entries and git commit
messages shorter. :-)

and I don't expect you to rewrite git history for that. :-)

Oh, I am? (I always have the feeling I should fix more lintian bugs
than report. But then again I often want at least a second opinion on
those I report. Because the obvious things like typos I fix directly
without bug report. :-)
