Confirmed here in bullseye rc2. I've tried all the desktops and all
are using the Debian Homeworld theme except Plasma.

I can confirm that this is the case with daily builds too:

KDE:
  https://openqa.debian.net/tests/6537#step/_graphical_wait_login/10

vs. Gnome FlashBack (to pick one at random):

  https://openqa.debian.net/tests/6536#step/_graphical_wait_login/11

I had always presumed that the KDE team just preferred to stick with the
KDE styling, so it never occurred to me to report it as a bug. I think
it's probably right that Debian looks obviously like Debian though.

Cheers, Phil.

2021-06-08 Thread Andy Simpkins
Package: task-kde-desktop
Version: 3.67
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where
appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
Testing Weekly builds of DI ready for release (build 2021-06-07)

  * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
   ineffective)?
Clean installation into seporate VMs of all installation
media. Only
KDE desktop is affected. All other desktops correctly install and
select the 'Homeworld' wallpaper and lock screens.

   * What was the outcome of this action?
KDE desktopinstallation had 'shell' as default walpaper and as
   'lockscreen'

  * What outcome did you expect instead?
I expected to see 'Homeworld' as the default wallpaper and lock
screen
- it wasn't 'shell' was set as the default.
Homeworld was installed, just not as the active setting
Login screen correctly showed 'homeworld'

I beleive that this would be an embarissment if we fail to correctly
theme the default desktop on KDE by bullseye release.
Note I have also tested GNOME, XFCE, Gnome FlashBack, Cinnamon, Mate,
LXQt, LXDE all sucessfully.
