Given that the core issue is partial mesa upgrade which has been solved long ago, I am closing this issue. If you find similar bugs, please open a new bug report. Confirming, the cause is partial mesa upgrade. Got the full mesa set from unstable today, no longer having this issue.
Bug#995753: qimgv: Crashes trying to display video
Package: qimgv Version: 1.0.2-1 Followup-For: Bug #995753 Dear Maintainer, I encountered the same error message running vlc and came across this bug report. It also occured when I installed and ran qimgv. After some debugging I found both players worked after downgrading the package mesa-va-drivers from 21.2.3-1 to 21.2.2-1. Since I have i386 mesa packages on my system, I tested both vlc and qimgv on a bookworm/sid system with only amd64 packages and both work fine with version 21.2.3-1. It appears that this bug is a consequence of a partial upgrade of mesa as the i386 packages currently FTBFS (#995786). Please consider reassigning this report to mesa-va-drivers. -- System Information: Debian Release: bookworm/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'testing-debug'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.14.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_CA.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_CA.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_CA:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages qimgv depends on: ii libc6 2.32-4 ii libexiv2-27 0.27.3-3.1 ii libgcc-s1 11.2.0-8 ii libmpv1 0.33.1-1+b2 ii libopencv-core4.5 4.5.3+dfsg-1+b2 ii libopencv-imgproc4.5 4.5.3+dfsg-1+b2 ii libqt5core5a 5.15.2+dfsg-12 ii libqt5gui55.15.2+dfsg-12 ii libqt5printsupport5 5.15.2+dfsg-12 ii libqt5svg55.15.2-3 ii libqt5widgets55.15.2+dfsg-12 ii libstdc++611.2.0-8 qimgv recommends no packages. qimgv suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- World War III will be a guerilla information war with no division between military and civilian participation.
