Bug#444314: gspca-modules-2.6.21-2-686: gspca bugs with my logitech webcam

2007-09-27 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: gspca-modules-2.6.21-2-686
Version: 2.6.21+01.00.18-4
Severity: normal

I try to install my logitech webcam under debian. So I installed the gspca
module for my kernel, but when I plug the webcam, I must wait a very long time,
as if the module was waiting for something, and the light on the webcam are turn
on.
I tried to launch camorama or ekiga, but they both freeze.

lsusb gives me for the webcam :

Bug#414380: amaya does not start. X Window System error serial 10426 error_code 8 request_code 144 minor_code 5

2007-03-11 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: amaya
Version: 9.53~dfsg.0-1
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable

I can't start amaya, and I have this message :

(amaya:2766): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_widget_set_colormap: assertion
`!GTK_WIDGET_REALIZED (widget)' failed
The program 'amaya' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)'.
  (Details: serial 10426 error_code 8 request_code 144 minor_code 5)
(Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported
asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a
 meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the
gdk_x_error() function.)

I use the unstable package.

When the url contains special characters like space or accent (é, è),

Bug#636879: patch for can't clone the repo: ValueError: need more than 1 value to unpack

2011-08-07 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: mercurial-git
Version: 0.2.6-1
Severity: important
Tags: patch

Hi,

I found a solution that solve the problem for me.

In the file /usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/hgext/git/git_handler.py, line 810, I
just skip the lines in the metadata that doesn't contain : instead of
analysing them, and failed (cf the attachement).

I don't know if it is a good solution, but it works for me, so I share it :-)

Bug#644356: [backuppc] In host summary, column sort doesn't work well

2011-10-05 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: backuppc
Severity: minor

Hi,

In the host summary, the columns « Full age » and « speed » aren't properly
sorted when I clicked on the title of the column. For instance I got this for
speed :

9.42
8.79
7.20
…
2.10
13.92
12.67
10.75
1.50
1.07

It seems that the 10.* aren't properly handeled.

I am using Debian stable, with backuppc 3.1.0-9.

Bug#635536: [grisbi] the drop-down menu are too small

2011-07-26 Thread Adrien Grellier
En cette agréable journée du mardi 26 juillet 2011,
Stéphane Glondu a écrit :

I'm using GNOME, and the menus are above (see attachment). It seems
strange that using GNOME or KDE would have an impact. Can you try with
GNOME? Alternatively, can you try to reproduce the problem with another
 GTK application on KDE?

Gnome is not installed on my computer, I juste have KDE.

However, I tried with theWidgetFactory and I reproduce this bug, but only with
the GtkCombo. The GtkComboBoxEntry works well.

It seems that the GtkCombo is deprecated in favor of GtkComboBoxEntry since
GTK+ 2.4 :
http://developer.gnome.org/gtk/2.24/GtkCombo.html

I haven't found any other GtkCombo in my Gtk softwares : Gimp, Inkscape, dia…

If grisbi is still using GtkCombo, maybe it can be a solution to replace them
with GtkComboBoxEntry ?

Tomorrow I will try with another physical screen.

Regards,

Adrien

PS : sorry for the personal response…

Hi,

I're right, It is a misconfiguration of the dual screen, when I remove my
second screen… So it's a KDE pb and not a grisbi one :-)

You can close the bug.

Hi,

Since 2010, KDE improved a lot. I suspect that the bug has been corrected, as I
cannot reproduce it on several computer, all on Debian testing. I am able to
listen to youtube and amarok at the same time without any problem.

If you still experiment the problem, please let me know, I will try to
investigate more on phonon. Otherwise, I will considered the bug as solved.

The bug is a bit old, so could you please confirm the behaviour is still
present with the testing version of KDE (4.8.4) ?

On my PC I can reach the page without SSL error. I just got a warning about the

Hi,

I think you may be happy with KDE 4.8.4 (testing version), as the information
windows (and the info panel as well) include more complete : duration, size,
mime type, etc. are now included.

Could you please give a try to KDE 4.8.4 and confirm this, so I can close the
bug ? If there is any information missing, I could report it to upstream.

Hi,

First you have to enable « command line » in krunner : alt+F2, then clic on
button settings, and check command line.

Now when you type dolphin, you will have an entry « run dolphin » (not the same
as the entry Dolphin/FileManager), with a settings button on the right. When
clicking on the button you should be able to launch applications as another
user, root for example.

Bug#718045: [owncloud] Provide owncloud in backports ?

2013-07-28 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: owncloud
Version: 4.0.4debian2-3.3

Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I was using owncloud on squeeze, by taking the package from testing, waiting
for wheezy. It works great, I am happy, but now that wheezy is released,
owncloud disappears from stable :(

Is it possible for you to provide owncloud in backports ? Maybe it's already
planned ?

Otherwise, I will take it from testing.

Regards,

Adrien

Bug#718846: xul-ext-kwallet -- kwallet integration for firefox

2013-08-05 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: wnpp
Severity: whishlist

  Version : v2.1
  Upstream Author : Guillermo Moline
* URL or Web page :
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/kde-wallet-password-integratio/
* License : GNU GPL-2

This extension allows firefox to use kwallet, the KDE password manager. It
improves the user experience, as all the passwords are stored in the same
manner.

The integration for Gnome is already in Debian (xul-ext-gnome-keyring), it
would be nice to see the integration for KDE too.

On the wiki page, I see no blocking stuff to prevent Visit to be
packaging for Debian, so I wonder if it's still the case.

Bug#711904: [roundcube] can't modify identities since wheezy

2013-06-10 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: roundcube
Version: 0.7.2-9

Hi,

I just update my Debian server from squeeze to wheezy. Since then, the user
can't modified and saved their identities. An error message appears on the
webpage, and in the log I got these messages :

It seems that the db doesn't migrate well… What can be done now in order to be
able to restore a good db and so, be able to modify the identities ?

From which version did you migrate?

From squeeze, so I think it's 0.3.1-6 from wheezy (0.7.2-9)

You can try to apply the upgrade
 files by hand:
  /usr/share/dbconfig-common/data/roundcube/upgrade/mysql

I tried to apply these upgrades 0.5-1, 0.6+dfsg-1, 0.7-1 and 0.7.1-1, without
luck: I still got the same message and error.

But I find in the 0.5-1 upgrades this line:
-- ALTER TABLE `identities` ADD `changed` datetime NOT NULL DEFAULT '1000-01-01
00:00:00' AFTER `user_id`;

If I apply this line, it solved by problem. There is other lines commented too
in the same file, but I don't know if they should be applied too.

I let you close the bug or not, as every regular upgrade from squeeze to wheezy
may be affected by this bug.

Bug#724662: [apper] upgrade failed with broken apper

2013-09-26 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: apper
Version: 0.8.1-1
Severity: grave

Hi,

Since the last update (version 0.8), apper doesn't work anymore. I got this
message :

Unable to open database read-only: Database action 'prepare dependency insert
statement' failed: table dependencies has no column named items_installed

It seems to occurs on every PC with apper and makes apper completely useless
(no upgrade, no install, etc.). The solution is to remove
/var/lib/listaller/db/ , as described here for instance :

http://shrimpworks.za.net/2013/09/14/broken-apper-on-debian-unstablesid/

The bug is quite old (since april), but I think it could be usefull to correct
it in the Debian package. Every person who wants to upgrade from wheezy to
testing will have the problem.

Adrien

Bug#718045: [owncloud] Provide owncloud in backports ?

Hi,

As I see no answer for my bug in a month, I start to investigate. If I well

https://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/pkg-owncloud-maintainers/Week-of-Mon-20130701/000708.html

you do not want to provide owncloud in backport, I think it's sad, but you're

Bug#762867: [nagios-plugins-contrib] check_memory: Unable to interpret /usr/bin/free output

2014-09-25 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: nagios-plugins-contrib
Version: 11.20140704
Severity: normal

Hi,

The plugin check_memory doesn't seems to be working anymore :

root@machine:~# /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_memory -vvv
[extra-opts] check_memory -vvv
Running: '/usr/bin/free -b'
Output from /usr/bin/free:

7273594880
  Swap: 16378753024 0 16378753024
MEMORY CRITICAL - Unable to interpret /usr/bin/free output

Maybe it's because of recent changes in the free output, so the plugin cannot
parse it anymore ?

If you need more information to investigate, please let me know.

Adrien Grellier

Fortunatelly, this bug has already been reported for Archlinux:

Bug#852089: [xul-ext-kwallet5] xul-ext-kwallet5 makes icedove segfault regularly

2017-01-21 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: xul-ext-kwallet5
Version: 1.0-2
Severity: normal

Hi,

xul-ext-kwallet5 makes icedove segfault regularly, but quite randomly.
My desktop environnment is KDE. Before installing the extension, Icedove
was never crashing.
I see on the upstream website, that a new version is available (1.1),
and correct a crash. Maybe it is related to my bug ?

I also see in another bug report that this extension is aimed at firefox
mainly. If so, it may be wise that the package do not activate the
extension by default for icedove.

Here is the trace I got :
adrien ~/ $ icedove

Bug#792205: Fusioninventory in stretch ?

2017-02-15 Thread Adrien Grellier

Hi,

Do you think fusioninventory will made its way to stretch ?

The freeze is here, I see no package in testing, but only this bug is
blocking. In my lab, we are using fusioninventory a lot on Debian, so I
am very interesting to have it for the next stable version.

Kind regards,

Adrien

Bug#849644: [freecad] freecad should recommends povray and graphviz

2016-12-29 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: freecad
Version: 0.16+dfsg2-2

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---
Dear Maintainer,

Freecad uses graphviz (for graph dependency) and povray (for
raytracing), which are already packaged on Debian.

Maybe freecad should recommend or suggest these two packages ? So It
will be easier for users to know which packages they should installed to
have a full experience of freecad.

Bug#856537: virtualbox-dkms: virtualbox 5.1.8 module does not build on kernel 4.9.0-0.bpo.1-amd64

2017-03-06 Thread Adrien Grellier

Hi,

This bug is closed since a few days, but virtualbox still does not build
with the kernel 4.9!

Do you have any idea when the new version will be available in backports
? If it's quick, I will wait for it, otherwise, I will recompile the
virtualbox package with the new version.

Cheers,

Adrien

Bug#395573: Building Visit for Debian

2017-10-17 Thread Adrien Grellier
Hi,

I am interested to have visit for Debian Stretch.

So I took the work you've done and tried to compile visit 2.12.3 on
Debian Stretch. My work is here, feel free to use it:

https://github.com/LHEEA/debian-visit

Cmake now configure correctly the package, but I got compilations
errors, which should be solved according to visit's wiki:

https://www.visitusers.org/index.php?title=VTK_6.3_Upgrade

Unfortunately I will not have time to finish the packaging… So if anyone
have time to continue the work to have a proper package which compiles,
please contribute…
My patches are also quite dirty, sorry for that.

Kind regards,

Adrien

Bug#395573: RFP: visit -- interactive parallel visualization and graphical analysis tool

2017-11-08 Thread Adrien Grellier
Hi,

I finally got through the compilation's errors.

So if you take my repo, you should be able to build into sbuild a deb
package for visit. It does build with python2 and Qt5.

Be careful, it doesn't respect the Debian way at all : The FHS is not
respected and some libraries are bundle in it (gfortran, etc.). I have
build only one big .deb, but it may be split (python-visit, visit-dev,
etc.).

I also had to disable some functionalities in visit (HDF5, Silo, GDAL),
BoxLib, as it triggers some  compilation's errors.

It is sufficient for our internal needs, so I won't invest more time in
it. But if anyone wants to bring visit into Debian, feel free to use my
work, it could be a start.

Kind regards,

Adrien

Bug#916208: [blender] Could you provide the Python module of Blender?

It's not a problem at all, my question is more for a mid-long term
period : for now, people are recompiling blender by hand, but in the
future if the module can be provided directly by Debian, it would spare
time for our staff and students, and probably other users too.

So If you can add it to sid/testing, it's good for me, backport would be
heaven ;-)

If it's in sid, I can recompile the package for our needs.

Bug#940549: [gdm3] gdm3 seems to not respect x-session-manager since Buster

2019-09-17 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: gdm3
Version: 3.30.2-3
Severity: normal

Hi,

We are using gdm3 with KDE Plasma desktop as a default Linux desktop for
our users (Authentication with LDAP).

Plasma is configured system wide as the default session with
update-alternatives :

root@pc-lheea182:~# update-alternatives --config x-session-manager
Il existe 4 choix pour l'alternative x-session-manager (qui fournit
/usr/bin/x-session-manager).

  Sélection   Chemin  Priorité  État

  0    /usr/bin/gnome-session   50    mode automatique
  1    /usr/bin/gnome-session   50    mode manuel
* 2    /usr/bin/startkde    40    mode manuel
  3    /usr/bin/startxfce4  50    mode manuel
  4    /usr/bin/xfce4-session   40    mode manuel

But since Buster, GDM3 launch GNOME as the default session ! We have to
specify manually Plasma on the first connexion.

Does the configuration in gdm3 has changed ? If so, could you please
tell me how to set up the default session in gdm3, so that Plasma is
launched for the first connexion instead of Gnome ?

Kind regards,

Adrien Grellier

Bug#942249: ITP: inkscape-ext-textext -- Re-editable LaTeX graphics for Inkscape

2020-05-26 Thread Adrien Grellier
Hi,

It seems to work fine in inkscape, many thanks for your work!

I just notice one thing: you may have forgot a dependency on python3-lxml.

Kind regards,

Adrien

Hello! I'm glad someone is finding use for this. I updated the
packaging in [1]. Notice the change in package name to
inkscape-textext, which more closely matches other inkscape extension
packages.

It "works" in the sense that it compiles, installs, and creates
basic objects in inkscape, but I haven't tested the packaging
(or the actual extension) beyond that.

I'd appreciate any feedback you have while testing and using it.

I'll try to get around to uploading to debian-mentors again and
asking for a sponsor in the near-ish future.

Best,
Antonio

Bug#942249: ITP: inkscape-ext-textext -- Re-editable LaTeX graphics for Inkscape

2020-05-20 Thread Adrien Grellier
Hi,

Thank your for your package of TexText. I successfully compile your package for
Buster, for a user of our laboratory, but failed to use it.

Upstream developpers released a new version recently (1.0.1), do you intend to
package it ? It can solve the bugs I encountered.

Kind regards,

Adrien

Bug#999705: fusiondirectory: Provide version 1.3.1 for Bullseye ? (fix dashboard crash)

2021-11-15 Thread Adrien Grellier
Package: fusiondirectory
Version: 1.3-4
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

Debian Bullseye provides version 1.3 of FusionDirectory. Unfortunately, we hit
some bugs with the upgrade to Bullseye, which crashed the dashboard :
https://gitlab.fusiondirectory.org/fusiondirectory/fd/-/issues/5967 ]

It impact our workflow, for example we cannot track the expired accounts
anymore…

This bug has been solved with the bugfixed version 1.3.1, release in 2019 :
https://gitlab.fusiondirectory.org/fusiondirectory/fd-plugins/-/releases ]

Is it possible to provides this version for Bullseye, via the normal repository
or backports ? It would be very helpful.

Kind regards,

Adrien Grellier

Bug#999705: fusiondirectory: Provide version 1.3.1 for Bullseye ? (fix dashboard crash)

2021-11-15 Thread Adrien Grellier
Hi,

Thanks for the answer.

> The way to fix this for you is: I bring FD to Debian testing/unstable
and provide a 1.3.1 backport. Would that work for you?

The Backport solution is good for me, and less intrusive in the Debian process
indeed. For upstream, it may be also a better option, to avoid strange
configuration, not 1.3 and still not fully 1.3.1 :-)

If you prefer to go with the patches solution, I need this one for sure :
https://gitlab.fusiondirectory.org/fusiondirectory/fd/-/commit/1103808bd3015ae37333e60625fae1262b8dd89a

and maybe this one, about the expiration date on the Dashboard:
https://gitlab.fusiondirectory.org/fusiondirectory/fd/-/commit/549d6143c8e1d3e614b3d3c2a522f1bd671161d2

Kind regards,

Adrien
