Bug#157696: ant: junitbatchtest attempts to run tests in abstract classes
This issue was also filed in the Ant bug tracker: https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=20547 I don't think this issue should be fixed in Debian if it isn't changed in Ant first, otherwise it would be possible to create non repeatable builds (an ant build that would work on Debian but fail on Windows or OSX for example). It's quite easy to work around this issue, the abstract tests can be named *AbstractTest and then simply excluded from the batchtest, for example: junit batchtest todir=${build}/classes/test fileset dir=${build}/classes/test include name=**/**Test.class / exclude name=**/*AbtractTest.class / /fileset /batchtest /junit For these reasons I suggest to close this bug. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#726432: ITP: libjdom2-java -- Java API for accessing, manipulating and outputting XML data
Package: wnpp Severity: wishlist Owner: Emmanuel Bourg ebo...@apache.org * Package name: libjdom2-java Version : 2.0.5 Upstream Author : Jason Hunter, Rolf Lear * URL : http://www.jdom.org * License : BSD Programming Lang: Java Description : Java API for accessing, manipulating and outputting XML data JDOM provides a solution for using XML from Java that is as simple as Java itself. There is no compelling reason for a Java API to manipulate XML to be complex, tricky, unintuitive, or a pain in the neck. JDOM is both Java-centric and Java-optimized. It behaves like Java, it uses Java collections, it is completely natural API for current Java developers, and it provides a low-cost entry point for using XML. While JDOM interoperates well with existing standards such as the Simple API for XML (SAX) and the Document Object Model (DOM), it is not an abstraction layer or enhancement to those APIs. Rather, it provides a robust, light-weight means of reading and writing XML data without the complex and memory-consumptive options that current API offerings provide. This package is a spin-off of libjdom1-java. Bug#728375: libjetty8-java-doc: Questionable dependencies
Hi Mauro, The JDK documentation alone uses about 240 MB. Almost all Java documentation packages depend on this, but you have to pay the price only once. The dependency is necessary to have nice links between the Javadoc of the package specific classes and the Javadoc of the core Java classes. Bug#728562: libgpars-groovy-java, groovy: error when trying to install together: overwriting /usr/share/groovy/lib/gpars.jar
Hi Russel, Thank you for your help in sorting this out. As I understand that means Debian has to package Groovy 1.x and 2.x separately. For the clarification, Debian can ship several versions of the same library. It's just avoided until it's absolutely necessary (junit 3 and 4, asm, servlet-api are some examples). jars in /usr/share/java are simply renamed to avoid collisions. Regarding Java 8, you may be interested to learn that it's now possible to build a Debian package of the official Java 8 preview release using java-package 0.53. I hope the groovy package in Debian will become a first class citizen in the Groovy ecosystem, we aren't there yet but if you know of people in the Groovy community interested in helping they are welcome! Bug#729006: FTBFS: missing libmockito-java dependency
Thank you for the log. The build doesn't fail in Debian. The difference comes from the modified version of xmlgraphics-commons in Ubuntu. In Debian libmockito-java is a transitive dependency of maven2 (through libmaven2-core - libdoxia-java - libfop-java - libxmlgraphics-commons-java - libmockito-java), but in Ubuntu the dependency on libmockito-java has been removed from libxmlgraphics-commons-java (and that makes sense since it's not a runtime dependency). The right solution is to ignore the dependency by modifying debian/maven.ignoreRules in maven-javadoc-plugin. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#687075: generated package depends on unavailable libav{codec,format}52
With Java 7u6 Oracle started shipping JavaFX which relies on two libs fxavcodecplugin-52.so and fxavcodecplugin-53.so linked to libavcodec/libavformat 52 and 53 respectively. I guess they do so to support a wide range of systems, but that's problematic for dpkg-shlibdeps since only one version is usually available. Due to this the generated package declares no dependency at all. A workaround is to unpack manually the JDK/JRE archive, remove the fxavcodecplugin-xx.so library linked to the unavailable version of libavcodec/libavformat, rebuild the archive and then run make-jpkg. With this the package dependencies are properly set, but I ignore if JavaFX will complain at some point about the fxavcodecplugin that was removed. I believe maven-compiler-plugin 3.1 requires Maven 3 to build, so we'll have to complete the transition to Maven 3 before packaging this update. If not, I can contact gpsprune upstream to see if he is planning to use this new version soon. gpsprune breaks with the new version of metadata-extractor. If you can contact the upstream developers and ask them to upgrade the code that would be great. Are you planning to apply this patch to libmetadata-extractor-java Debian package? Yes but I'd like to review the modification and forward it upstream first. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
